There are too many negative influences in our world, and this collection was created to help us celebrate the importance of positivity and self-love.
Lighting a candle for a particular purpose, reason or intention is practised worldwide from people of all walks of life, varied spiritual leanings, and a diverse array of religions. The lighting of a candle means something unique to each of but universally the candle symbolises bringing light to our wishes or desires. A candle can be lit as a prayer for peace or a request for healing.
"If I burn the candles, it means not only giving you light. It means to show you the fire which I have inside.”
- Gaurav GRV Sharma
"But this is my first time lighting a candle with intention." I hear you say.
You know what? It's probs not! Even lighting regular candles we sometimes have intentions we are not realising. We light candles to celebrate birthdays, romance and sometimes we light them as a part of our relaxation rituals.
The essence of lighting a candle with intention or purpose is really just about slowing down, clearing your mind and creating a ritual that is perfect for you. Your mind is more powerful than you realise.
Here's some ideas:
Prior to lighting your Chakra Balancing Candle sit in silence for a few moments. Release any thoughts of negativity lingering in your mind. Allow only positive thoughts to live there. Close your eyes and see a world filled with only happiness and prosperity.
- Write down your affirmation, wish or prayer on a piece of paper and place it next to the candle,.
- Simply set aside a few moments to give thanks, be still, and let your mind fill with positive thoughts.
"I ask for this to serve the highest good of all concerned."
The act of offering a blessing is one way to enlighten a situation and help you find the right answer to questions that are troubling you.
You may receive an answer while you are meditating or it may come to you later. You should trust your intuitive self during your ritual.
I can't wait to hear what your personal ritual is and how it has helped you to believe in yourself.
Chakra is a Sanskrit word which literally translates into a spinning wheel. According to ancient yogic traditions, there are seven major chakras or energy centres in our body.
Each chakra is a different colour that directly influences our physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. When our chakras are perfectly aligned with the universal flow of energy, every part of our life becomes harmonious and joyful. We reclaim perfect health, and experience a renewed love and passion for life.
It is recommended that when using the following affirmations, you sit or lie down in a quiet place and focus on the location of each chakra.
Our Chakra balancing candles are a perfect match with our White Sage Smudge Sticks and White Sage incense. It really is easy to create your own sacred ritual. As you speak out or silently meditate on each affirmation, you can visualise a wheel spinning face-up in a clockwise direction in the specific colour frequency of each chakra:
Root Chakra – The root chakra is located at the base of our spine and corresponds to the colour red. This chakra relates to our basic human instinct for survival, security and stability.
If the root (base) chakra becomes unbalanced, you may feel "stuck" and just can't seem to move forward in life. You may feel ungrounded, with a depleting sense of self. This frequently happens following traumatic events, family problems, death of a loved one, and major life changes. A blockage in the root chakra prevents the release of grief, guilt, and sadness, contributing the the inability to move forward and preventing you from following your destiny.
Affirmation: "I am love; I let love in.
I am protected & kind to myself. I live in peace & gratitude."
Sacral Chakra – The sacral chakra is located just below our navel in our lower abdominal region. The colour of this chakra is a deep, saturated orange and relates to reproduction on a physical level, creativity and joy and relationships on an emotional level and our energy and passions on a spiritual level.
If the sacral chakra becomes unbalanced, you will have a lack of energy flow throughout the entire body. You may feel extremely lethargic and unmotivated for life, particularly exercise and sex, leading to sadness, loneliness, and mild depression.
Affirmation: "I am radiant; beautiful and strong. I am creative and kind to myself. I live in peace & gratitude."
Solar Plexus Chakra – This chakra is located above our navel and directly in our stomach area. The solar plexus chakra therefore plays a vital role in digestion and is a bright yellow colour. This chakra deals with growth and pertains to issues of the intellect, personal power, control and spiritual evolution.
If the solar plexus chakra becomes unbalanced, you may feel very stressed all the time and powerless to gain control, leaving you mentally and physically exhausted. You may have “gut” feelings but are not sure of what or where they are coming from, contributing to your distress and discomfort. The stress of an unbalanced solar plexus chakra also contributes to poor memory and concentration
Affirmation: "I am positively empowered; I am spiritual. I am successful and kind to myself. I live in peace & gratitude."
Heart Chakra – The heart chakra is located in the centre of the chest and spins with the vibrant green colour of spring. This chakra is one of the most important meditation tools for cleansing and clearing spiritual imbalances. The key issues related to the heart chakra are unconditional love, compassion and well being. An imbalance of this Chakra can be evidenced by apathy, faithlessness, unforgiving, hopelessness, distrustful, uncommitted, and detached.
Affirmation: "Love is the answer to everything in life. I give and receive love unconditionally. I live in peace & gratitude."
Throat Chakra – This chakra is centred in our throat and exudes a pale blue light. The throat chakra governs our ability to express and communicate clear thoughts and ideas. It is also related to truth, maturity, independence and the ability to trust others.
Common psychological symptoms of an unbalanced throat chakra: nervousness, anxiety, fear, attention deficit disorders, poor coping skills, feeling isolated.
Affirmation: "My thoughts are positive; truthful & Clear. I have clarity and kindness for myself. I live in peace & gratitude."
Third Eye Chakra – The third eye chakra is positioned in the centre of our forehead, between our eyebrows. Also known as the brow chakra, it spins in a deep saturated dark blue hue and helps us tap into our inner guidance and divine vision. This chakra deals with developing intuitive clarity and the releasing of repressed emotions.
If the third-eye chakra becomes unbalanced, we may feel bombarded with our own thoughts, unable to process them effectively and may feel stuck in an emotional and intellectual rut. We lose our sense of intuition, making our judgment clouded and causing us to make poor decisions. With a blocked third-eye chakra, we become closed to new ideas and fall off the paths of our true destiny.
Affirmation: "I believe in my intuition & wisdom. I am passionate and kind to myself. I live in peace & gratitude."
Crown Chakra – The crown chakra is located at the top of our head or in the crown area and corresponds to the violet colour. The role of this chakra is based in awakening consciousness and attaining enlightenment through the integration of the self into the one universal form of intelligence.
If the crown chakra becomes unbalanced, we feel unconnected spiritually and as though we are living without any direction or purpose. If there are many physical ailments and diseases that seem to continually surface without a root trigger or cause, it is likely to be an out-of-balance crown chakra, as this chakra affects the six energy systems below, and practically your entire being. A blocked crown chakra can lead to depression and nervous system disorders and feelings of being lost and incomplete.
Affirmation: "I am complete & one with the divine energy. I trust others and am kind to myself. I live in peace & gratitude."
