I feel like I should tell you that I know nothing about Tarot. In saying that I have had a Tarot deck for eons. I used to pick it up and look at it but I never learnt anything more.
The Mystic Mondays Tarot is definitely wayyyy funkier than my old tarot. It's bright, energetic and very very cool.
There's a mystical (yes I said it) holographic shimmer to the box and the sides of the cards that was difficult to catch with the camera that won't disappoint.
Mystic Mondays Tarot is tarot for the modern mystic. It is an intuition tool for spiritual guidance, designed with intentional good vibes and a love of colour! The deck has fresh and modern design, bright colours, and a more approachable tone than the traditional Rider Waite but still maintains the integrity of the meanings of each card. Monday is the traditional day to make a fresh start, but this deck makes it possible to make a new beginning every day.
Purchasing a deck on it's own could be overwhelming to a tarot newbie, but the Mystic Mondays team have also designed an App for both iPhone and Android users. I suggest downloading it to use as a teaching tool if nothing else. The app has the cards illustrated with the meanings behind each (and a few other features) - as I check out each card the app tells me the meaning behind it.
I'm definitely intrigued by this deck and the premise that spirituality doesn't have to be a somber or complicated affair. With this deck in your tarot arsenal it can be fun, uncomplicated and easy to use & learn.
Mystic Mondays was successfully funded on Kickstarter in June 2017 for $25,990. The self‐published deck went on sale in January 2018 and in its limited sales run sold over 1000 copies, including Kickstarted fulfillment.
