When you think of 'Cleopatra' you instantly see her laying in a bath filled with milk, surrounded by hot guys feeding her grapes...
Cleopatra was famous not just for being a Queen of ancient Egypt, but also for being remarkably beautiful and smart. She was also well known for taking her milk baths, which she often infused with honey or herbs. She was wise to do so; milk is great for the skin. It is both moisturising and exfoliating. It will leave your skin feeling silky soft, with a healthy glow.
Our JOURNEY Bath Milk Recipe is absolutely delicious if I do say so myself! I made it to be nourishing, soothing and easy to use.
Goat Milk contains Vitamins A, B6, B12, and E. Goat Milk is known to be a natural emollient that provides rejuvenating natural exfoliation while balancing and moisturizing your skin.
Milk is perfect for you sensitive types. Come on! You know who you are.. ... I challenge you to ask yourself the question.. .. "Do you cry at the movies? Or do you cry when certain ads come on the TV?"
Bahaha!! Noooo seriously. We actually mean sensitive skin, not sensitive souls ...
Milk is good for my skin because I'm getting older each year. I used to have to put up with blotches and breakouts, but not anymore. If you have skin conditions like Roseaca, Dermatitis, Eczema or Psoriasis then our unfragranced bath milk may provide you with a heap of relief. These common skin problems can really impact negatively on your life, causing pain from itching, broken skin and emotional distress. Broken skin provides an entry point for infection as well. (There's the nurse in me popping her head around the curtains!)
Milk is good for my skin because it's one of nature's perfect cleansers - it can calm red, irritated spots.. .. If you have problem skin we would recommend that you stop all skincare products when your skin is irritated and chillax in a warm, unscented milky bath. Going back to basics is always the best option, but often overlooked.
Milk is a natural choice for soothing sunburn. It works because of it's amazeballs anti-inflammatory, moisturising and skin-repairing properties. (In this instance you would have a cool water temperature.)
Our Milk Bath is a wonderful way to moisturise dry skin on our walking hands as well:
- Milk helps in repairing cracked heels by exfoliating the dead skin and moisturising the dry skin of your heel.
A simple foot soak can be done by adding some of our milk bath to your foot spa or a large bowl of water. Dip your feet for 10 to 15 minutes in this soak followed by gentle exfoliation with a pumice stone and finish up with our Healing Body Balm. Skin care doesn't have to be complicated. JOURNEY Bath Milk also includes colloidal oatmeal which is well known for its ability to soothe dry, itchy or inflamed skin. It is an all natural remedy for eczema, bug bites and chicken pox. Colloidal oatmeal will help normalise your skin's pH levels.
When developing our bath milk recipe we couldn't leave out Epsom & Pink Himalayan salts. They're not like the everyday ho-hum table salt you throw on your dinner - think the beach! These salts are brimming with minerals and rejuvenating properties. Loads of brand name beauty products feature salt as a key ingredient, and it's easy to see why they're there when you know what they can do.
